✅ Our home is located in a peaceful countryside setting on a spacious half-acre lot. There is a small two-step staircase at the entrance. ✅ Please be aware that wildlife such as deer, skunks, hogs, and other animals may be present in the area. ✅ We are conveniently close to Lake Dunlap, just a block away, with Schuman's beach boat ramp a few blocks away for easy access. The recent repair of Lake Dunlap's dam has restored the lake to its full levels, providing great opportunities for fishing, water skiing, wakeboarding, and wake surfing. ✅ Fireplace is only for decoration, we DON'T list it as an available amenity in the listing and we prefer you not use it do to insurance, safety and liability issues. We also don't have a water line to the fridge, so we only have ice trays, no ice maker. ✅ Cactus Haus is 6 miles from Schlitterbahn and 9 miles from Gruene. During the busy season, it may take 15-20 minutes to reach Schlitterbahn due to summer traffic. ✅ This property has special local compliance requirements which include a signed rental agreement, ID verification, and a security hold of $1000 (which is not a traditional security deposit, just a pending transaction). As an optional alternative to the security hold, you may opt in to purchase a non-refundable damage waiver provided by a third-party insurance company. The optional damage waiver is $39 for stays up to 10 nights, with an additional $2 per day for stays longer than 10 nights. Damage waiver purchases are optional. To make this process easy for you, we use a secure and very simple, app-free platform called Happy Guest. It is not an app, and you do not have to sign up for an account - it’s a safe and secure website. It also gives you a guest portal with all the info about the home and all of my favorite local spots. House Rules

~Renter of the property must be present during reservation. You can not rent for a third party unless set up prior to arrival. We welcome work groups! Renter must be 24 years of age or older. ~No Unregistered Guests. Only the specific guests noted in the booking are allowed on the premises. A violation of this Airbnb house rule will result in the immediate removal of all guests (and any visitors) from the property without a refund. The max overnight occupancy for this home is 5 PEOPLE excluding Infants. There can not be more than 5 people in and on the property during any point of time during the rental. ~A $50 per night, per person fee will be charge for any undisclosed guest. ~Quiet time is from 10 pm to 8 am. Any disturbance triggering a visit by police will require guests to forfeit the remainder of their stay and immediately vacate the property without any refund. ~No smoking is permitted inside the home. If you smoke outside, please throw your butts away and clean your ash up. A $250 a day cleaning fee to remove odors and stains or pick up butts and clean ash will be applied, if you are found in violation. ~No pets are permitted. A $500 pet fee will be charged, if a pet is on the premisses without permission, along with any other fees it may cost to remove dog waist in the yard or repair damages done by the pet. ~Respect Our Towels & Sheets. Please be respectful of bed sheets and towels. Makeup, face creams, and tanning products will stain and/or bleach linens and towels. Un-salvageable linens and bath towels will be charged to the guest. $10 for each damaged towel and $10 for each damaged sheet. ~No water balloons or confetti. There will be an extra charge of $200 to clean up confetti and water balloons in the yard if found. ~No fireworks. You will be charged a violation fee of $250, if it is found fireworks were discharged on the property as well as any fees to clean them up and repair damages caused by them. ~No bouncy castles, water slides, etc. You will be charged for any sod that has to be replaced and if the septic has to be pumped as a result of a bouncy castle or water slide. It cost $500 to pump the septic system. ~No Parties. If guests are found to have had a party without host permission, which results in extra cleaning, guests will be responsible for extra cleaning charges and in the unfortunate event of the disruptions alerting neighbors or police, GUESTS WILL BE ASKED TO VACATE THE PROPERTY IMMEDIATELY WITH NO REFUND. ~If guests are suspected of carrying and/or using illegal drugs of any kind, the authorities will be engaged, and GUESTS WILL BE ASKED TO VACATE THE PROPERTY IMMEDIATELY. ~Guest Agrees To Pay for Damages Exceeding Deposit. Any damage made to property or furnishings which exceeds the deposit amount will be billed to the guest and will be reported to Airbnb. ~No Food or Drink In Bedrooms. No eating of food in the bedrooms. Guests will compensate host for any food and drink stains in the bedroom. ~There is a late check out fee of $250 unless you have authorized permission with the host to stay longer. Generally we will work with you if you need extra time and have called and arranged it with us, but if we are in a back to back rental situation, you must depart by 11am, so we can get the home ready for the next guest. -WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY ITEMS LEFT or LOST on the property. We will try our best to locate them and send them back and charge you the shipping cost. ~If any of the rules are not followed or the property is damaged leading to the refund or discount of another guest following your rental, you will be responsible for that loss of income.

Located in a quiet neighborhood on Schumacher Road just out of city limits on half acre lot. We are located one block over from Lake Placid and just down the road from Schumann’s Boat Ramp. Neighbors around us are full time. We are on a half acre lot, so there is lots of privacy between the homes on the street.

Mention spéciale pour le petit coin café ☕️ — mon petit bonheur du matin, le détail qui rend l’expérience encore plus parfaite ! La région est tout simplement splendide. Et énorme coup de cœur pour le quartier de Gruene 🎶 : typique, plein de charme, et avec de la musique live en permanence… une ambiance magique pour les amoureux de musique !
